ArtMoscow Fair 2023

In Alexander Zhernokluev’s work, modernity and tradition converge: grounded in an academic formation and committed to figurative painting, the artist boldly experiments with imagery, form, and technique, moving far beyond figurative realism — through expressive contemporary methods and, at times, radical artistic devices, he masterfully carries form into pure abstraction.

In the series of works that PLANZ gallery will present at the fair, the artist explores metaphysical categories — time, space, human existence. The images appear as phantoms: indistinct, fleeting, as if emerging from the depths of consciousness in shimmering fragments, then arresting the viewer in a collage on canvas.
