Alexander Popykin
Born May 31, 1983, in Serpukhov, Moscow Region.
Member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia.

Education:
1995–2000 – Regional Art School, Krasnodar

2005–2009 – Moscow State Open University, Lawyer, Moscow

For many years, Popykin was passionate about graffiti and painted lettering on walls, but over time he turned his attention to the texture and color of the “urban canvas.” In his work he transforms everyday city scenes — pigeons on sidewalks, residents of five-story buildings in Krasnodar — into “X-ray” visions of an alternative reality, where color becomes a vehicle for the artist’s dreams and ideas.
One of his notable solo exhibitions was “My Music” (Erarta, St. Petersburg, 2020), where the works were arranged as a visual poem about the street’s spirit and its “voices.”

Alexander Popykin’s works are held in private collections in Russia, Israel, and the United States.
